Partner event: organised by Sustainable Wairarapa with support from Masterton District Council
You’re invited to a climate hui this Sunday, 20 November 1-4 pm Copthorne Solway Park. Koha appreciated.
James Renwick is a frequent commentator in the media on climate matters – you’ll recognize the colourful waistcoat!
We’re expecting a good turnout so please come along with your ideas.
The CLIMATE – a CRISIS and an OPPORTUNITY
“What can we do about it here in the Wairarapa, for ourselves, our future, and our planet?
This is not intended as just another run through the science – the climate is changing and will have consequences for us all, +ve and -ve. The hope is that James’ talk will spur discussion around the actions we could pursue locally to our best advantage. One option is establishing an ongoing community-led Climate Forum open to all citizens. It will surely include those equally serious and urgent crises around biodiversity loss, pollution, and water.
Keynote speaker: James Renwick, Professor of Atmospheric Physics at VUW, Lead Author at the IPCC and Climate Change Commissioner”
