Rewanui Planting Day

August 8, 2021 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

Join NZ Farm Forestry Association Wairarapa Branch and the Montfort Trimble Foundation to plant 1000 native seedlings at Rewanui Forest Park. The planting will enhance one of Rewanui’s main walking tracks and provide habitat for the many native birds and insects at Rewanui. The morning will include a ‘how to plant native trees’ session and plenty of on-site guidance.

Meet: Rewanui Woolshed

Bring: Your own morning tea/lunch, and a planting spade if you have one. Please leave your dog at home. Thanks!

What to wear: Warm/waterproof clothes, and sturdy shoes/boots. Gardening gloves are a good idea too.

Directions: Rewanui Forest Park is approximately 20 minutes from town on the Masterton/Castlepoint Road. Look for a big Rewanui Forest Park sign on your left, then a woolshed set back in a paddock. Park at the woolshed. (If you reach the Riversdale turn-off you have gone too far!)
